Wow! This is crazy! I cut my hand in almost the exact same place on that same model of blender! I was trying to unscrew the blade part and my friend was helping me and one of us accidentally hit the power button. My hand was cupping the blade when it turned on. I, too had to get stitches, six to be exact. It has been almost two weeks and my hand is still in the healing process. The link has a picture of my hand and a short entry about it.
