The Lap-Band is working well, but it takes getting used to. I can't certain things, and now I know why the nutritionist was so persistant about the amount of protein necessary per day. On some days it is very difficult to hold down foods that aren't processed to the consistency of baby food. Other days I can hold down just about anything, if only in small amounts.
I have dropped over thirty pounds since June 28th, or in just over two months. Since I was allowed to have this surgery due to co-morbidity of diabetes and heart problems and a BMI of just 36.2 (usually the BMI must be at least 40), and I am a short person, 30 pounds is a very good portion of the amount I need to lose. I only need to lose another twenty to thirty pounds, and I will be in very good shape.
It has helped with both my blood sugar and my blood pressure.
