We choose to use a realtor, a very nice lady named Mia Romar, who is with www.perfectpropertyinc.com. Neither Ron or I have much experience with this, and both want to get the paperwork done correctly.
We expect that the property will end up being sold for commercial interests, mostly due to the 460' of highway frontage. (It is a trapezoidally shaped piece of property.) If we had the funds to develop the place, we would have put a small strip center ourselves out here, especially with all the houses going in, back where it is hard to see them. Coming out from Alvin, our nearest neighbors for three drives north on our side of 35 are all commerical; a lawn mower repair shop and gardening center, a boat shop, and an auto shop. Their highway frontage is about 200' each.
Poor Ronald is killing himself trying to get this place into some type of shape to sell. We have all these old vehicles and computers to get rid of, and our stuff to pack and he is getting very, very tired. But both of us are excited, if a bit worried, because it will be a new time in our lives. I have Mike from Haulin' T & A in Rosharon coming out for the old cars. He's helped us out that way in the past (since we like to run our cars until they fall apart....)
As for the little mare, Belle still hasn't given birth. I don't know how that mare is standing up. I just hope she isn't carrying twins.
