View Article  Fourteen head of cattle stolen in Brazoria County
The Texas Rangers are investigating the theft of 14 head of cattle from a pasture off of FM 2004 near Angleton. Texas Rangers believe the theft was committed by the same ring of cattle rustlers that have stolen $500,000 worth of cattle recently in the Houston area.
View Article  Orange takes the ham...right out of the frig...for the 2nd time

A couple of weeks ago our big frig went on the fritz.  So we have been using Jessica's frig from college.  It is way too small, but we are holding off buying a new refrigerator in case Ronald can fix the big one.

Except now it seems the tom cat has figured out how to open it.  Which he did.  And he stole the ham out of it.  He did it yesterday too, but I thought I must have left it open.  Now I see that he doesn't need me to help him out.  He just helps himself.

It seems to me, that either Sugar or Porter, the two inside dogs, would have done it sooner because they are bigger.  I guess brains won out over brawn (like is usually does).

I just knew I left it open yesterday, but he opened it again about half an hour ago.  Damn cat.  He even has it down how to open those dratted stiff plastic sandwich meat packages without chewing through them.  I think I would be more impressed if I wasn't so aggravated....

Orange, the Re-frig-raider

Darren McGavin, probably best known for "A Christmas Story", has died at the age of 83.  When I was young, his portrayal of Kolchak - The Night Stalker was one of the highlights of my week.  Even after the series ended, I watched just about everything that came out that he was in; I only watched "A Christmas Story" because he was in it (though I have come to prefer it to every other Christmas movie out there).
