Per a late breaking email update from The Facts, Lake Jackson police fired on the driver of a stolen car. Per the email received just after midnight:

The suspect evaded arrest and ran into a nearby neighborhood and stole a vehicle, Hromadka said. The officer ordered him to stop, but the suspect tried to run him over and the officer fired shots at the vehicle, Hromadka said. A chase ensued south on FM 2004 to Highway 36 into Brazoria. A blown tire forced the suspect, the only person in the vehicle, to stop, Hromadka said. The man had gunshot wounds and was airlifted to an area hospital, he said.

No names, either of the officers or the suspect, were listed in the email update.

It is obvious this was a quickly written email newsflash. "Hromadka said" is repeated often in the article, something an editor would have caught.  This is not a criticism of the reporter, merely an observation.  I like The Facts, it is one of my favorite newspapers.
