View Article  220 animals killed in Abilene pet store arson

Some worthless piece of sh*t torched an Abilene pet store Friday, killing about 220 animals.  From ABC13, the police say there were many kinds of animals killed:

Among the dead animals were birds, kittens, mice, fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, and other small animals, according to a police news release.

Though the police don't have a definite motive, some animals,  mostly birds including an expensive blue and yellow macaw, were missing.  So some dimwitted, worthless pool of spit killed a lot of animals to cover up the robbery of just a few.

I hope the spirits of those animals curse the lives of their murderers for the rest of their mud belly worm sucking lives.

View Article  Waiting impatiently for the memory card for my camera...

I bought a used camera at a pawn shop on the 29th.  Then I bought a memory card for it on eBay and a serial cable for it.  I haven't gotten either in yet.  Since I only want it for web pictures (and can't upload large pictures with only an ISDN), and it was only three dollars--and the guy at the pawn shop was so desperate to sell it, he ran next door to the Dollar store and bought $2.50 worth of batteries for it--which he let me keep--I bought it.  It is an old Kodak DC120 Zoom.  It seems to work, just doesn't have any memory or cables or anything (except the $2.50 in batteries).

Ron and I did not take the boat out this week; in fact, we didn't go much of anywhere this week.  He got his first commission check (which should be the majority of his pay), and it was only for half a month.  So we are broke, and will be until he gets his first full commission check, which should be next month.  So we are limiting outings to once a month until then.  It will give us time to fix some things better on the boat, any way.  (Finish the cushions, the interior woodwork, the exterior woodwork, then do curtains.  Especially curtains.  I really, REALLY want curtains.)

In Busselton, up to 80 false killer whales (pseudorca crassidens) have stranded themselves on the beach and more are in the water nearby and in danger of stranding.

Between 70 and 80 of the dolphin-sized marine mammals were reported on a beach at Busselton in Western Australia State, and others were at risk of beaching, Department of Conservation and Land Management manager Greg Mair said in a statement.

The state government asked for volunteers to help them save the false killer whales.

In Texas, the organization that handles strandings, including those of false killer whales, is the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network.
