View Article  So, exactly how am I supposed to respond?

I just got an email from Anonymous.  Anonymous is pissed with my attitude toward the death penalty and Jose Medellin.  Tough luck.  However, I can't respond to this person because they used an anonymous spoof email address.  So what do they want me to do?

Next time, this person should just leave a comment.  I promise I will respond, point for point, to whatever is left.  That way, everyone gets what they want.  You (whoever you are) can call me all the names you want--in public, no less.  I can respond to your name calling--again, in public.  And everyone else gets to read what both of us wrote.

In partial response to your email (what little I am willing to respond to, when I am not posting the whole sordid thing):

I completely believe in the death penalty.  In fact, I believe it should be expanded to cover all pederasts, most rapists, most armed robbers, almost all killings (including some of those now included under manslaughter laws).  I believe one of the greatest failings of modern justice is failing to judge harshly those who rape and murder.  I really believe that every so-called "honor" killing be met with the death penalty; it is the only punishment that meets that particularly horrible crime with justice.  Those who use "honor" as a justification to murder innocent women (usually it is women who suffer) have no honor and are not human

Most people believe that species identification is enough to designate certain creatures as human.  I do not ascribe to that method of identification.  Human is as human does--and there are many who do not behave human, so should never be treated as such.  Those ones should be treated as the rabid animals they are--and put down with the quickest, most humane methods we have at our disposal.  Otherwise, they will sicken the rest of us to their diseased and inhuman level.

Of course, by saying so, some people will describe me as being less than human.  So be it.  Since I have never killed anyone nor have any intention of doing so, it isn't a big deal to me.  Even with all the bullsh*t I have gone through in the last six months, I don't see myself as ever killing another human being.  Personal anger may be an excuse, but it is never a reason.

Some people would believe the following would be a good enough reason to off someone.  In this email, someone insinuates that my husband should off me as a fake suicide while pretending to be me as my childhood alterego--due to being born on George Washington's birthday, my alterego is called George...:

I never considered the email to be a good enough excuse to hurt anyone.  A good excuse to be extra vigilant, maybe; certainly someone who sends such a thing is a few cards short of a deck and possibly dangerous.  A good excuse to report someone to Yahoo as missing a few brain cells.  But not a good enough excuse for me to hurt anyone else.

So feel free to respond in some manner where I can respond back.  You might get a really, really long reponse and find out far more than you wanted, but you will actually get a real response.  Instead of being a whack-a-mole who I just unload on, I promise, I will try to make a reasonable response to whatever you might throw at me.

View Article  eBay and Starbucks

Yes, I am kschlenker on eBay too.  I got that question earlier today by email.  Yes, I am selling some of Ron's Starbucks crap.  No one who reads this blog has any illusions about how I feel about Starbucks.  Mostly, that I wish the whole company would be sucked down a black hole.  That I think Starbucks truly sucks bigtime shouldn't be a big surprise.  Neither should it be a big surprise that I am selling anything that has to do with his time there.

I figure I should get something back for all the pain that company inflicted on my family.  True, whatever I get probably won't pay for a quart of live shrimp bait, but I can always hope.

By the way, everything that I am not selling is already gone--Ron either gave it to the dogs to destroy or burned it.  I am not the only one who really hates Starbucks in this family.

Ronald is much happier now working for a real restaurant chain.  He did wonderfully on his final tests, with over a 95% average on all of his final exams and projects.  He again feels valued and esteemed, after all the bull crap he went through with Starbucks and their PC bullshit "culture" (where he wasn't allowed to fire worthless employees due to weird PC stuff--I guess making a profit isn't PC).  He is also making more than he was making at Starbucks; not very hard to do, considering their stupid maximum pay allowances (that any sh*tforbrains can make, which makes it hard on the ones who work extra hard, like Ron, to take).  I think Starbucks screwing him out of 3 weeks worth of vacation time pay once he quit--WHEN HIS DISTRICT MANAGER JEAN MANNING WOULD NOT ALLOW HIM TO TAKE THE TIME OFF--really pissed him off something fierce.

He is even smiling in his official picture at his graduation from training.  Yes, RONALD SMILED in a PICTURE.  That, in itself, is a major milestone.  I think he only smiled in a couple of pictures previously--mostly where he is pictured with his girls.  He is the fifth on the second row in his Golden Corral graduation picture.

He is also very happy with his meal program too--he really likes steaks, especially those that are grilled to order.  He is the happiest at work that I have seen him since he left Piccadilly.

View Article  I saw my sister for the first time in 21 years over the weekend...

I am definitely a country girl, as most people know.  I saw my sister Brenda, who all of us call Kay (her middle name) on Friday.  She is definitely a city girl.  It was nice to see her again, but I don't think we have very much in common.

She has a master's in nursing, and spoke about her problems in math.  I have a degree in economics, with a hard math edge.  She had beautiful earrings that laced up the edge of her ear from bottom to top.  I have one ear hole in each ear (and I am not really sure the holes are still open, since I so rarely wear earrings).  Alyssa was with me, wearing blue jeans and a polo shirt.  Kay's youngest, a girl, was with her, but she was wearing a strapless miniskirt dress to a mall.  (The italicization is mine; I find it hard to believe anyone would willing wear a dress to anything short of a prom--except maybe the Marine Corps Ball, like Alyssa did, sometime back.)

It was very nice to see her, but it was like acknowledging I had relatives who live on Alpha Centuri Prime; I know they are relatives, they know they are relatives, but anyone outside of our family would have a hard time figuring out the relationship.

I love my sister.  This much I found out for sure on Friday.  I didn't know how I would react to seeing her after all these years.  But the first reaction to seeing her was the striking pain in my heart of seeing someone who I had missed for a very long time.  That is what is wonderful about love and families; love is the bridge that brings two differing sides of a family together.  And family is the bridge that brings two differing members of a family to love.

YeeHaw!  Medellin is still on Death Row!  Some of you may not know who Jose Medellin is, but believe me, this is one illegal alien who never should have crossed our border.  He and his little buds raped and murdered two American citizens, two young women still in their teens with a world of promise a head of them.

Damn, it sure is nice that the good guys win every once in a while!

View Article  Ryu and Wayne's kittens were born on 05/15

Here is what they look like at less than a day old (and I am not even sure all five were born at this point)*:

Ryu and her kittens

The little yellow ones are both toms, the darkest of the Wayne patterned kittens is a queen, and the other two Wayne patterned ones are a tom and a queen.  All of the Wayne patterned ones have orange patches.  We don't know exactly where the kittens are tonight--Ryu moved them this morning into a huge pile of old computers I have in the livingroom (you know, the kind of old equipment you have but never want to get rid of, "just in case").

***

Jessica: This picture was taken shortly after the fourth kitten was born, approximately an hour and a half to two hours before the fifth was born. The first orange one was born at 11:00am (in the middle of the livingroom floor), the second orange one at ~11:30am, the first Wayne patterned calico at ~12:30pm, the second calico at about 1pm, and the third was born sometime between 1pm and 4pmish (I was gone to work by that point).

I am surely hoping Ron will let me go.  But even if I don't get to, you try to...go to the Emperor's page and find out more...

View Article  Ronald's poncho/tent thing

Ron wanted me to post pictures of his poncho tent thing that he and Alyssa have used when they went camping.  I posted up a whole page just for it, it can be found on the side or here.

None of the pictures on that page have him in them, of course.  Unless he isn't looking, no one can get him on camera.  Christine (who took the pictures) took a couple when her dad wasn't looking, however.

Heck, what he doesn't know won't kill him, will it?
