I have read in many places complaints about the new national standards for ID cards. I am not one who is going to complain--I believe they are appropriate and necessary for our national security and for our economy.
For too long, illegals have been able to work in this country with little fear that they would be found out and deported. I have heard all of the arguments about allowing illegals to work; they only do jobs that Americans don't want, they are necessary to make sure produce is inexpensive, they provide services to families such as inhome day care and cleaning so that those families can be more productive in our economy.
Prove it to me. The arguments are made by people who either don't want to pay a living wage to an American for the same job or want illegals to have all the rights of American citizens--without any of the obligations.
Look to hospital districts and ask how much gets spent on care for illegal aliens. Look to the police departments and ask how much gets spent for the crime that seems to follow illegals around--like the recent gang violence in Houston with MS-13. Think about it--they don't respect our laws to immigrate legally, why in hell would they respect our laws regarding personal property?
It is time that there are both standards for all state issued id's and a requirement that those id's be used at voting booths in national elections.
It is not surprising the groups that are against this; most are based in other countries. In fact, it is a form of flattery. Of course they opposed it--all their people want to live here too.
