When Airbus puts out something like this, then I might get a little excited. Until then, who cares?

The vet says Ryo Oki is carrying five kittens. FIVE. The vet says they are very large kittens, and that she still has two to three weeks to go. Poor thing. I don't know how those big kittens can all fit in that tiny little queen.

Dad holding me in Spring 1962 This is a 43 year old Polaroid of my dad holding me when I was just a month or two old. I don't seem to be enjoying the bright sunlight, do I? My dad goes in for angioplasty early next week. It will be a difficult procedure on a minor vessel on the back of the heart. He has been in a great deal of pain with angina for some time now, and his doctor believes this will relieve some of the pain. I love my dad, and I hope the doctor's hands are steady, and my dad's surgery is a success. Wednesday, April 27

The buffalo that got loose in Maryland are going to the slaughterhouse. Their owner, Gerald Berg, said he doesn't want to deal with them anymore and is sending them off.

Ryu is swelling up like she is pregnant; her belly is extremely tight and hard. She looks like she would be due very soon, but can only be about three weeks along. Due to Wayne's size, we are very concerned for Ryu. She is going in to the vet's on Friday. Many years ago, Sugar (Alyssa's show dog) got pregnant a second time by my Koko Bug. But her belly got very big very fast, and was extremely hard like Ryu's is now. I took her in, and the vet had to spay her despite her pregnancy. One of the horns of her womb was infected and completely filled with pus. The poison from the pus had deformed the pups on the other side of her, and most were already dead. She was only a month along at the time. I know one thing; Ryu really likes someone to rub her back due to the swelling. Look at this picture of her face, with her tongue sticking out as Alyssa is rubbing her back.
Ryu getting a back rub If she is pregnant, and it is a normal pregnancy, she will still probably have to have a C-section due to her small size. We will know what we have to do on Friday.

Poor little thing, never really got a chance at life. We have left the little girl with Bonnie, so Bonnie will understand it is dead. Later on, Jessica is going to go buy a miniature rosebush, and we will plant it over the little one's grave.

This wonderful picture is from Maryland, where a herd of buffalo escaped (from somewhere), and ended up running through an upscale neighborhood. The cops rounded them up by chasing them on to a tennis court.

Marcus Cloud, 38, committed suicide Friday over allegations he had an improper sexual relationship at Hempstead High School. He became the principal at Angleton High in February. The AP reported the allegations were made by a male student, but the Houston Chronicle, a paper much closer to both schools, says that information is not yet available. Typical of the AP, the story run in the Washington Post practically labels Cloud guilty. Typical of a Texas paper, the Houston Chronicle gives him the benefit of the doubt--by quoting his former supervisor and the Chief of Police for Hempstead saying he was well liked and only changed schools because he was going to a larger school. One way or the other, it is the students of both districts that lose. They now have to deal with shock, grief, and anger at his death. The student who made the report will have to deal with shock and grief--and fear of the anger of the other students directed toward him (or her).
