In Aurora, Colorado, a child is in critical condition after being attacked by three pit bulls.  The boy was trying to get into his house after school, but the front door was locked.  The boy walked through a gate into his own backyard and the dogs attacked him.  He was saved by some neighbors who chased the dogs off by brandishing a bat and tree branches.

The police arrived shortly later and shot one of the dogs when it behaved in a menacing manner; the other two were captured by animal control. 

Kuchi, a low land gorilla at Zoo Atlanta, gave birth to twins on Monday.  Twins have only been born in North American zoos six times since 1966.  Aren't they cute?

Some scientists found some 65 million year old fossils in act of having sex.  It is somewhat ironic that these fossils are slimes (slime molds), but then, so are most lounge lizards....

Warspite's grandson, who he raised, told the AIR Empire community that Warspite has passed on after a long battle with illness. Warspite was a long time commentator on the AIR Empire site.  He was also a gentleman and a scholar.  He will be greatly missed.

Yesterday, Halloween, was my parents' anniversary.  They have been married for 52 years.  I miss them both, and we hope to travel down and see them soon.

Some US researchers discovered that male mice sing to female mice, each with their own unique love song.  No one ever figured it out before because the songs are ultrasonic.  The males have similar capacities to song birds. 

Amongst mammals, only humans, whales, bats, and dolphins were previously known to sing.

Some sick f*ck decided to do some show and tell with his kid.  Freakzoid creepzoid parents who did this need some serious time in the slammer.  Why aren't these parents being prosecuted?  Why aren't the sickos watching this happen stopping them?  Totally gross and inhumane...

Because I am female, some people assumed that I supported Harriet Miers.  Sorry.  She was a cipher at first, and then the more I knew, the less I liked.

I prefer judges who are strict Constructionists.  Those that aren't tend to both make up rights and restrict rights.  I like the Constitution the way it is; until the American public changes it by amending it (a very difficult process, and rightly so), the courts should interpret it as written.

Judge Alito's record, education, and restraint make him a wonderful candidate.  President Bush finally listened to his supporters and kept his campaign promise with this nomination.
