...especially since it isn't true.  A painful bond lesson for the Angleton Chamber of Commerce, maybe, but for the rest of the taxpayers in Brazoria County, music to our ears.  If voters thought rejecting the bond proposal would be painful, they wouldn't have rejected it.  But after taxes have gone through the roof in the last couple of years (ours have quintupled), another additional tax so our Fairgrounds could be replaced with a "Convention Center" seemed pretty ridiculous.  Besides, who in hell wants to have a Fair at a Convention Center anyways? Even Houston doesn't do that. Oh yeah, let's wear three piece suits to the BBQ cook off.....it is just so not Brazoria County.

If the BCFA wants a new Fairgrounds, that I might could get behind, if it is a reasonable price and if it is actually a Fairgrounds. But a "Convention Center" that loses $600k to $800k a year in it's early years and may never show a profit?  Go sell your snake oil somewhere else, folks.
