Two Wal-mart employees were charged with animal cruelty after shooting and shrink wrapping a stray cat on the store manager's orders. Wal-mart has suspended the employees, including the manager. Wal-mart has said it may terminated all three.
This was a completely avoidable situation. All they had to do was call Animal Control. That cat would have been gone pronto. Some people have no compassion for animals and no sense when it comes to their company's reputation.
UPDATED AND BUMPED: Wal-Mart has fired five employees for shooting a cat multiple times with a pellet gun. Two assistant managers are charged with felony animal cruelty. Those two assistant managers, the store manager, and another manager plus one hourly employee were fired over the incident.
Someone at AOL is showing their liberal bias; look at the difference between these two screengrab headlines (slightly highlighted for easier reference):
Compared to this:
The first one says the GOP wants to "trash" the vote recount. Very negative connotation. The story it links to makes no mention of anyone asking for the vote recount to be "trashed". Someone also decided this was going to show up under Crime News. So the GOP asking for another vote recount to be stopped is a crime? The first one went through, at a large cost to taxpayers, but asking for the second to be done is a crime?
So who did this? Who knows. Maybe the author of the story actually had the link title on his story, and an editor on the story end changed it to something less inflammatory. Maybe an editor on the AOL side thought the author was being too easy on the GOP and wanted to spice things up. Either way, it is pretty gross evidence of liberal bias.
For the full screens, go to AOL Screen Grabs and click on the thumbnails.
UPDATE: Apparently, I wasn't the only person who was ticked. Someone caught the title and changed it into something a little less nasty:
So now "trash" has become "toss". (Both show up, the less nasty one is a few hours newer.) Kinder and gentler liberal bias...however, the request to stop the second recount is still under Crime News. (So does this editor just consider the GOP to be a crime in progress, or what?)
Like the other two, the full page of the screengrab can be found under AOL Screen Grabs.
These are pictures from Christmas Day, the day after we got approximately 13 inches of snow (the last time we got snow, it was less than 1/2 inch and melted in minutes). I was in bed, very ill (doctor said later I had another heart attack), and we couldn't get off the property to get me to the ER. The road in front of our home was covered in snow, and people had been sliding into the big ditch next to the road. This is what the road looked like:
Here is a picture of our barns in the snow:
Ron and the girls went outside to make a snowball for me, because I couldn't go outside for myself. Our dogs, including old Midas (now more than 10), have never seen snow and were having a blast. Here is Ron and Alyssa with the puppies, Blue, Annie, and Jasmine:
Ron got a picture of Jessica, Christine, and Alyssa with the puppies next to the pond too:
Here is another view of the pond and trees in front of our house:
It may seem weird to be posting these now, after eight or nine days, but I couldn't because we took them with a 35mm and just now had the time to take them in for developing.
Via ABC13, a family pet saved a seven year old boy from the tsunami. When a mother named Sangeeta with three children was caught by the tsunami, she chose to set down the oldest one, Dinakaran, because she thought he would be able to run away on his own. The boy ran back into their hut which collapsed shortly after. She was sure she would never see her child again.
The dog Selvakumar had other plans. He followed the child into the hut. Then he nipped, tugged, and dragged the boy out by his shirt collar and up the hill to safety.
Dogs are just plain wonderful critters to have around.
On Free Republic, it is reported that a group calling itself Code Pinkgave $600,000 to the other side in Fallujah. This group, headed by some whomphead named Medea Benjamin (interesting first name there--remember Medea sliced and diced her kids to get back at her husband for cheating). Their organization gets it's funding from ANSER (or ANSWER), the Socialist party of the US. This group is notably anti-American, though supposedly made up of Americans.
Giving financial aid to the enemy is treason. Here's to hoping this treasonous bitch gets arrested and tried. I am tired of hearing about these retards, and the government being too nice to pick them up. Damn it all, we are at WAR. Lock the ho up and throw away the key!
I read a post on Instapundit about the total failure of the UN to get aid to the victims of the tsunami. He linked to a post by The Diplomad:
Maybe watching the UN flounder is not like watching a train wreck; perhaps it's more akin to watching an Ed Wood movie or reading Maureen Dowd or Margo Kingston -- so horrible, so pathetic, that it transforms into a thing of perverse beauty. The only problem, of course, is that real people are dying.
That's the hell of it, whenever the UN is involved. They scarf up the money, scarf up the credit, screw around with meetings and committees, and let people die. As an organization, it simply needs to go.
Sunset and sunrise are truly moments of glory; and this young gentleman is standing at the sunset of a most horrible regime, and the sunrise of a country that I hope will become our greatest ally in the region. I hope he ushers in peace, prosperity, and hope in a very old-yet-new place.
As reported on azcentral.com, the Mexican government published a comic book that gives tips on how to cross the border, what their legal rights are if they get arrested by the Border Patrol, and how to live quietly to avoid having to go back to Mexico.
This bugs the hell out of me. I was born a mile north of the border, and it has always been a joke. My parents still get people walking across their property going north toward Hebbronville. I was always told that these were just people trying to find a better life for themselves.
Better life for themselves? They are criminals. A good portion of them behave like criminals once they get here. If we try to treat those who are criminals like the scum they are, Mexico gets up in arms about it. If Mexico was so worried for the rights of these people, why are they showing them how to get up here? Of course, if we just caught all of them and shipped them back out, life in the US would be much safer. But Mexico wants all those dollars that the illegals ship home. So they teach people how to become criminals.
Right now, there are several Mexican nationals on death row. They are there for being murdering, raping, child-killing scuzzy folks. Mexico doesn't want Texas or the US to kill these sorry sick bastards. Tough luck. They sent them here, they are under our laws now--and like the one who I listed up there, they killed American citizens.
If Mexico would put up and shut up, I wouldn't be so pissed. But I am sick to death of criminals coming up here, using our resources, getting jobs that screw our young folks out of jobs, and then when they get caught doing something horrendous, Mexico squeals like a castrated pig over these punks getting what is coming to them.
Addendum: I see that I got so ticked that I forgot one point I ment to make--surely there are terrorists who can speak Spanish. Pointers on how to remain hidden once they get here are certainly going to help them.
