The Facts says that Laurence Cano of Angleton has received 10 years probation after being convicted of sexual assault.  Cano was a Victoria police officer and an ex-prison guard.

A case of BSE has been found in a French goat, according to Yahoo news.  This goat had believed to have had scrapie, a similar disease, but had BSE.  It did not go into the food supply in Europe.

The New Zealand Herald reports that a mysterious illness that causes large tumors on Tasmania devils is being spread by violent behavior and violent sex foreplay amongst the devils.  The disease, which has caused up to 80 percent mortality in devil populations in some areas, has cut the population in half.

View Article  Guilty verdicts in Chicago's "Amusement Park for Rats" Case

AOL News reports guilty verdicts in the federal case against a 500,000 square foot cold food storage facility that prosecutors called

"an amusement park for rats".

This facility had housed meat and other foodstuffs for Chicago area stores and restaurants.  According to prosecutors:

When the trial began last week, Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Sussman told jurors that "rodents were allowed to feast on an all-you-can eat buffet" at the warehouse.

View Article  Ex-officer found guilty of sexual assault

The Brazosport Facts reports that ex-police office Laurence Cano, 42,  has been found guilty of sexual assault against a woman who rented an apartment from him.  The woman's assault was also backed by Cano's own aunt, age 34, who said Cano had assaulted her when she was 11.  Two store clerks where Cano had delivered bread also testified that Cano had made inappropriate sexual comments to them, including asking what kind of underwear they were wearing.

Cano could receive a sentence from anywhere from probation to 20 years in jail.
