My late dad, who was the Bush Campaign Chairman for his tiny population wise county (but big land wise) in south Texas, would've have been pissed off over this so-called immigration bill. He hated the 1986 bill, which was an amnesty bill, and he was completely against another round of this kind of bullshit.
What in hell is wrong with the GOP leadership that they can't see the people at the bottom hate this bill? We know what happened last time, and it wasn't pretty, it just caused more problems. Many have heard stories about the President wanting to secure his "legacy"...what, as an idiot? As someone who sold the GOP out? What in f'ing hell does he expect from the party base, except to stay home in 2008?
So okay, sign this bill, Bush 43. Then expect a donkey as president next term. Hope you are really, really satisfied with that result.
