View Article  6 month old pit puppy gnaws off baby's toes

In Louisana, parents who were in bed next to their infant daughter woke up to her screams to find their 6 month old pit bull puppy eating off her toes.

Who lets a puppy, any puppy, pit or otherwise, in a room with a baby with no supervision?  The parents may have been in the room, but they were asleep and both obviously hard sleepers.  Even a toy poodle can do damage to a baby, because a baby can't fight back.

The parents have been charged, the baby is in the hospital, and the puppy is in the pound.  And none of this had to happen.  A little common sense could have gone a long way in a situation like this....

My very sweet outside dogs have become my very sweet, very big inside dogs.   It has been a week of very cold weather, and we have no dog barn up for them. In Alvin, we had a barn that was 8 x 10 with one of those hot red lights in it for when it got chilly.  When it got down right cold, the dogs were in the house.

But here we have nothing up for them yet.  And I won't let them stay outside in the cold all night, that would be cruel.  So, I don't get to use the sofa to watch movies...it always seems to be occupied when it gets cold outside...
