I think that perhaps she should be allowed (read that forced) to become "emaciated" herself. Chain her in the back yard and don't feed her for a week or two, see how she enjoys it.

Did you notice how it is that she said the dogs belonged to someone else in the household--but everyone else in the home were kids. That means, she was abdicating responsibility of the animals to a child. That just burns me up.

In 4-H, the parents help with the animals, and not only because some of the animals are large and the kids need help to train them. The parents are also there to make sure the kids don't hurt the animals.

Abdicating responsibility (those aren't MY dogs) is the coward's way out.

Great lesson in responsibility she gave her family members, huh? You know, if you let your kids get animals on the condition that they are responsible for said animals care, and they prove not to be, find the animal(s) a new home, and work on teaching your kids responsibility in a way that doesn't involve slowly killing something.

Some people really suck.
