Ana Bryant, a friend of mine since Jessica first joined 4-H (seventeen or eighteen years ago) is representing a company called Ignite, an alternative electric company (deregulation oriented) with cheaper rates that the big three. I would take advantage of the noticeable difference except we are out of their zone. So if you are down Brazoria County way, consider contacting Ana and seeing if she can get you a better electric rate. PS...I am adding her site to the Family sites on the right side. I have known her for so long, she is like a sister to me.

I don't know if the murderers of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom are racists. I don't think anyone really knows, though I believe that it is highly suggestive considering that they are of one group who was attacked by another. I do know that news organizations quit reporting the biological facts about assailants in the '80s under pressure from minority groups. I am not sure why minority groups were worried about news organizations reporting the truth---unless it made their groups look bad.... I do know that news organizations should report 100% of all bio info available on all suspects. This is for the protection of the public. Ignoring this information just to make some group happy is ridiculous and dangerous. Several years ago, the owner of the Yellow Jacket Grocery on Highway 35 was murdered by a crazed dude who smashed the owner's head in with a hammer over some beer. No one could describe to me what this guy looked like. No one. Tell me, was that really sane? BTW--the owner was a Pakistani-American and my friend. I am pretty sure murderer was a white American, and a total loser (I got that later, as a rumor). Losers tend to come in all shapes and colors, but it always helps to get a really good description of the ones to be watching out for. Tuesday, June 12

I am not sure how many people realized it at the time, but the Express Bank partially belonged to Nolan Ryan. I just found some old un-used checks from before he sold his stake to First Community (and prior to them selling their stake to Wells Fargo). Funny, when I was in high school in King City, California (one of the two I went to each year), a boyfriend asked me to sign a note saying he was sick so he could watch Nolan Ryan pitch in some sort of after season game. I had no idea who in heck Nolan Ryan was---and I was absolutely scandalized to be asked to sign a note like that. I still did it, but felt very guilty. We broke up shortly after that. I wonder if that boy ever grew out of his hero worship. He sure broke me of mine that day. People always seem to jump off the pedestals we put them on--they stubbornly want to be real people, not paragons or saints. |
